Every 40 seconds, someone dies by suicide. When an individual takes his or her own life, 20 others make an attempt. For those that struggle and are still here, a constant decision awaits: do I choose to live despite every urge, desire, and impulse to die?
That has been the question running through my head when I’ve struggled with suicide. When I’m not suicidal I ask the same question, but look towards a solution. Some kind of answer that would help others get through the most difficult moments of their lives.
What kind of help do you think is important for those in crisis? Do you think we can support someone with the help of digital devices? What would that look like? Or why wouldn’t it work? I would love to hear your thoughts, questions and challenges. I need your feedback in order to build the right solution.
